For companies and young professionals

Corporate training in Syria: finance and management for teams and young professionals

Your company needs staff who read the numbers, prepare reports and manage sales against KPIs. Graduates need skills lectures do not teach. Our practical programmes in accounting, finance, sales and management start from real tasks, so participants can do the work, not just describe it.

NAWA
Context

When practical training is a necessity, not a luxury

Training does not fix everything. It is the right answer when the gap is in skills, not in systems or structure.

  • Your accountant records daily entries but cannot produce a monthly income statement without help.
  • Department heads make cost and pricing decisions without reading the numbers in front of them.
  • Your sales team works without a plan or KPIs, so lost opportunities go unseen.
  • You promoted a strong performer to manager, and they were never trained to lead a team.
  • You are a graduate, but employers ask about practical tasks you have never done.

Staff training for large companies and family groups in Syria, and for graduates and young professionals. Part of NAWA's mission: developing young Syrians' skills and opening international markets to them.

Impact

What changes after the programme

Employees return to work with skills they apply straight away: correct entries, a monthly report on time, a sales plan with clear KPIs. Non-finance managers read the financial statements and ask the right questions before deciding. Graduates enter the job market with hands-on experience they can show at interview and use from their first weeks. And you know what changed, because we assess skills before and after the programme.

Scope

What the programmes cover

01

Practical accounting

Our accounting courses in Damascus run from daily entries and the chart of accounts to reconciliations, month-end close and financial statements, using real company cases.

02

Finance for non-finance managers

How to read the income statement, balance sheet and cash-flow statement, understand margin and working capital, and base daily decisions on them.

03

Financial management and planning

Budgeting, variance analysis, cash-flow forecasting and financial KPIs, for finance staff and those moving into finance roles.

04

Sales training and KPIs

Sales planning, account management and follow-up against clear KPIs, and linking discount and pricing decisions to margin, not deal size alone.

05

Management training for teams

Planning, assigning work, tracking performance and running meetings, for new managers and for specialists moving into management roles.

Approach

How we build the programme

1

Free needs assessment

We discuss your team's goals and the tasks where they struggle today. The first session is free, with no commitment.

2

Gap analysis and proposal

We test participants' current level with short questions and cases, then send a written proposal with content, timeline and cost.

3

Hands-on training

Practical workshops on cases from your sector, where participants apply each skill before moving to the next.

4

Follow-up and measuring impact

We review participants' performance at work with management after the programme and recommend what needs reinforcing.

Before you start

Questions about training

What makes a good accounting course for beginners?
One that starts from daily entries and ends with financial statements, built on exercises rather than memorising. Before you enrol, ask how much of the time goes to practice, and whether you will work through a full case, from the first document to the final report.
Which accounting skills do employers look for in graduates?
Accurate entries, account reconciliations, a monthly report delivered on time, and confidence with finance terms in Arabic and English. No course can guarantee a job, but a practical course gives you these skills. Daily practice builds the rest.
What is a finance for non-finance managers course?
A course for managers outside finance. It teaches them to read an income statement and see where profit comes from, tell profit from cash, cost a decision before taking it, and track their department's KPIs.
How do I choose a corporate training provider?
Start with the task, not the course title: what must your staff be able to do after the programme that they cannot do today? Then ask the provider for a level assessment before starting, content built on cases from your sector, and a clear way to measure impact afterwards.
Does NAWA train individuals or only companies?
We build our programmes mainly for company teams, around their needs. If you are a graduate or early in your career, contact us and tell us your goal, and we will let you know whether a current programme suits you.

We start with your team's needs, then build the programme

In a free assessment we agree which skills your team needs and which come first. If you are starting your career, ask about programmes open to individuals.
